I’m a UX Designer based in Tacoma, Washington. I enjoy all aspects of the UCD process, from exploratory research to the refinement of a beautifully user-centered product. Jumping from music to languages to computer science in college, I ultimately chose UX design as a career because I saw it as a more philanthropic, creative way to engage in the tech world.
As I learned more about UX, I decided that all its parts were unified by this idea: working to creatively respond to unwieldy problems using a multidisciplinary approach. It is a mosaic of specialties that is ever-evolving. Within it, I am most interested in working with detailed systems, especially software and design systems that need to be simplified for end users. When it comes to scoping out a problem space, I am also well-versed in using a range of research methods to better understand complex problems.
Outside of design, I am passionate about piano performance, languages, gardening, and illustration. I am attracted to the patterns that make up music and languages, and I like thinking of both as a way of communicating with others (language-learning as a practice in empathy and music as a method of storytelling). When I'm not doing that, I like to illustrate architecture and landscapes in ink. These interests enrich my life and make me a more varied, resourceful designer.
